UNF builds on international partnerships in UAE, Vietnam, Colombia

The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) continues to expand its global reach by partnering with international academic institutions.

During a special event at its campus in Dubai last month, the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) presented a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to UNF.

The MOU was signed during one of three ceremonies attended by Cyndi McLeod, CEO of GUS Canada, and Professor Karim Chelli, President and Vice-Chancellor of Canadian University Dubai. The ceremonies were held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. They included the signing of an MOU with other GUS Canada institutions, as well as another celebration, the 13th Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2023–24, which McLeod attended as an honoured guest.

“These MOUs mark an important moment for our institutions, enabling us to share knowledge and resources that will enrich the academic landscapes for our students across multiple fields of study – including STEM, business, and the arts,” said McLeod. “By collaborating closely, we are creating opportunities for innovation and growth that will benefit both our local and global communities.”

The MOU agrees to explore cooperation in multiple academic areas, including Communication, Engineering, Business Management, Arts and Sciences and Executive Training between CUD and UNF. They also plan to develop short-term training programs and other new initiatives tailored to enhance educational and professional opportunities.

UNF is also expanding its global presence in Vietnam, and recently formalized an MOU with Tra Vinh University in Vietnam, a public institution located in the city of Trà Vinh, Vietnam, aiming to explore collaborations on master’s and bachelor’s degree programs to create progression pathways into UNF’s degree programs.

A third MOU was signed in Colombia with Universidad EIA, one of the top private universities in Envigado, Colombia. It aims to explore the possibility of academic progression, joint education initiatives, and visiting student programs to be hosted at UNF.

These partnerships highlight UNF’s commitment to collaboration and dedication to providing valuable opportunities to its students.
