Students currently enrolled in the MMgmt program are entitled to a free Associate Membership with the association, giving UNF students the chance to belong to Canada’s chartered management and leadership association while earning their degree

Master of Management online explained

Location  
This is a fully online program. You can complete your coursework from anywhere.  
Schedule 
There will be no scheduled classes. Asynchronous learning means you can study at your own pace. All course materials will be made available at the start of term, except for exams and quizzes.  
Timeline 
Weeks 1-10: You will be able to access your course content online and complete tasks throughout this period. 
Weeks 11-12: You will need to complete any review activities and final assessments, including exams and final projects.  
Participation 
While components vary depending on the individual course, you can expect to use discussion forums and group chat platforms, participate in videoconferences, as well as utilize project management tools. There will be group assignments in addition to individual assignments. 
Course content 
Each course will have a syllabus as well as additional course materials that will be made available at the start of the term, except for exams and quizzes.

PhD, MBA, BA

Sathy Srithar is the Associate Dean for the Master of Management program. He holds a PhD in Management, Economics, Research, and Information Technology from the University of Salford and has a background in business process management and human resources information systems. He received a Chartered Manager designation from Canadian Institute of Management. Before his academic career, he worked as an IT consultant in various industries.

Admissions

Academic information

Applicants must meet the following minimum conditions for admission: 

Bachelor’s Degree – Completion of a recognized undergraduate degree equivalent to the four-year honours degree standard in an appropriate specialization, or relevant bridging studies, with CGPA of 3.0 (on 4.33 scale) or better

Document checklist

Applicants must submit:

  • A completed application form
  • Official transcripts from all post- secondary institutions attended
  • Official documentation confirming professional designations, where applicable
  • Proof of English language proficiency, if applicable

The Office of the Registrar had dedicated more than $5 million in scholarships, awards and financial support to students in 2024. Entrance Awards are for newly admitted international and domestic students, while Academic Scholarships are for those entering the second term of their program.  

UNF has partnered with organizations to help newly admitted domestic students finance their education.

According to Canada’s Information and Communications Technology Council’s Digital Talent Outlook for 2025, Canada’s digital economy continues to outpace the general economy and there has been a significant shift in consumer behaviour and the consumption of digital goods and services.  

The world needs digital leaders, and so does Canada. Ottawa has forecasted the demand for managers in various industries is expected to grow, with a projected 676,900 new management positions in Canada by 2028.   

With a strong demand for management professionals skilled in emerging technologies, as a Master of Management graduate you will have the training needed to be successful in the modern world of work and be the top-choice candidate when you apply for jobs. You’ll be working in an online environment, why not learn in one too? Do I need a business background for this program?

We encourage anyone with an interest in management to apply. Augment your undergraduate degree from any discipline with a strong foundation in business principles and management studies, helping you become the type of well-rounded leader the world needs. 

​Will I have to come to campus? 

This program is fully online. You will not have to attend our downtown Niagara Falls campus. Projects will be completed online, and you will be able to connect one-on-one with your professor virtually on a regular basis.  

Will my classes be delivered on a schedule? 

Our online program is delivered asynchronously, allowing you to access your coursework on-demand in a way that best suits your schedule and lifestyle.

​Do I need to take the GRE or GMAT?

We do not use standardized testing as part of the admission process for our graduate degrees. We look at your academic record from your undergraduate studies during the application process. See our admissions page for more information about our requirements.
