New Student Orientation

During NSO, the university community gathers to celebrate the beginning of a new term, welcoming new students to the campus for the first time, and welcoming returning students back.

Attendance at NSO is mandatory for all new students.

Our academic sessions during NSO are designed to set you up for success for your first day of class at UNF. You will meet with your faculty to discuss class schedules, academic integrity, and gain valuable skills all while preparing for your upcoming classes.

Get to know other students in your program and at UNF in casual social settings. NSO will be filled with opportunities for you to meet your peers, faculty, and staff in a fun setting such as a visit to the iconic falls, escape rooms, or even axe throwing!

This event is the perfect opportunity to connect with student organizations, campus resources, and local vendors. Explore the diverse range of opportunities available to you, from academic and career-related clubs to cultural and recreational groups.

Students attend NSO sessions based on their program at UNF. The individual sessions will be grouped as follows:

  • English for Academic Purposes students
  • Graduate and Graduate Foundation Program students
  • Undergraduate students

Attendance at NSO program orientation sessions are mandatory for all new students

UNF also offers optional in-person activities throughout the weekend. These activities are open to all students, but students must save their spot by registering ahead of time.

  • Welcome Fair
  • Faculty meet and greet, campus tours, and social activities

The registration link for these activities will be shared with incoming students prior to NSO.
