Paramjit Singh

For more than 15 years, Paramjit Singh has taught a diverse array of graduate and undergraduate economics courses across universities. He holds an MA, MPhil, and PhD in Economics, and an MA in Political Science. Through his experiences in the classroom and providing one-on-one student mentorship, he has discovered that the act of teaching is really a journey of learning.
In addition to teaching, Paramjit is a passionate researcher who has written, presented, and debated extensively on the intersection of economics and politics. He has two books set to be published in 2025: Political Economy of Capitalist Development and Political Economy of Globalized India. Outside of his academic work, Paramjit has served as an economic consultant for India’s hydroelectric power industry and as coordinator of the Indian Political Economy Association.

Economic consultancy
- Cost-benefit analysis for the 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project (SJVN Limited) for the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh (India). Presented the cost-benefit analysis at the high-level approval committee meeting, which led to the forest clearance approval of the Rs 2,614.51 crore project.
