UNF Partners with Niagara Falls Innovation Hub to Expand Student Resources

University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is proud to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub (NFIH). Located just one block north of the UNF campus, NFIH provides collaborative workspaces that deliver tailored programming, tech resources, and piloting and validation opportunities. These resources assist entrepreneurs in Niagara to grow, scale, create jobs and diversify the economy. With an expanding ecosystem of SME’s (Small-Medium Enterprise), NFIH has already made tremendous strides in impacting Niagara’s economy through growth, innovation, and job creation.

With the new MOU agreement signed, incoming UNF students will have access to facilitation services for UNF capstones, challenge-based learning opportunities, internships, field placements, service learning and applied research projects. NFIH will also facilitate partnerships with work-integrated learning (WIL) clients, including NFIH partners, members, and community users.

UNF students will also have access to the following:

  • Podcast Studio and Content Creation Suite, Makerspace and BASE Lab.
  • Community Events, Networking, Summits and Conferences, and Pitch Competitions.

“We are excited to be working with the leaders of innovation in the Niagara region to connect our students with opportunities for success,” said Victoria Martin, Chief Commercial & Compliance Officer for GUS Canada. “This agreement will strengthen our ties to the community, while also adding a new layer of resources for our students. The NFIH has been very successful in propelling local entrepreneurs to success, and we look forward to seeing how our students will take advantage of this unique opportunity.”

Dan Bordenave, CEO of NFIH, is also thrilled with the agreement, and believes this is just the start of a long and prosperous collaboration with UNF: “As UNF continues to grow its student population, I believe there will be countless innovative and entrepreneurial achievements that will result from this partnership. Students are catalysts for growth, change, and most importantly, ideas. We have the resources in place to nurture entrepreneurial students and their ideas, giving them a platform for success. By providing UNF students with the support, guidance and advanced resources at our disposal, the opportunities are truly endless.”

UNF continues to explore partnership opportunities with local business leaders and would invite inquiries by email to:
