A new chapter in higher education began this week, as the University of Niagara Falls Canada opened its doors to students for the first day of classes at its newly renovated downtown campus.
The country’s newest university marked the start of its inaugural spring term on Monday, April 8. The first intake of students was welcomed into two graduate programs: Master of Management and Master of Data Analytics.
“We are thrilled to welcome our inaugural cohort of students to our downtown campus,” said David Gray, UNF provost and vice president, academic. “With its central location and cutting-edge facilities, this campus serves as a hub for innovation, creativity and academic excellence.”
Renovations were recently completed on UNF’s campus, located in the Hatch building on Queen Street. From state-of-the-art classrooms and cozy study areas to a modern library and welcoming student lounge, each area was designed with students’ needs in mind. The campus is a bright and modern space aimed at fostering learning and collaboration.
Ahead of the term’s start, UNF hosted a New Student Orientation (NSO) allowing incoming students the opportunity to become acquainted with the school and its surroundings. NSO included a welcome fair on campus, introductory sessions with key faculty, social activities on Queen Street, as well as a Start of Term celebration at the Sheraton Fallsview.
In July, the school will see another intake of students in the Master of Management program for its summer term. UNF will launch a third master’s program in the fall, Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications, in addition to two undergraduate degree programs, Honours Bachelor of Business Administration and Honours Bachelor of Science – Biomedical Sciences.
With a blend of tradition and innovation, UNF is poised to redefine the landscape of higher education in the heart of the city, shaping the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
The university is inviting the community to an open house event on April 25 so they can see the newly renovated campus for themselves and learn more about the exciting undergraduate and graduate degree programs being offered at UNF.
