University of Niagara Falls Canada invites community to downtown fall market, presented in partnership with the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub

In partnership with the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub, the University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is excited to welcome students for the Fall Term with a community street market, happening Friday, Sept. 27.

As they prepare for classes, the Magnificent Fall Market is a completely free way for students to experience the bustling Queen Street community while supporting local businesses and artisans.

The wider Niagara Falls community is invited to come out and experience this pop-up fall market as well and celebrate the start of a new season. Representatives from UNF will also be there to promote the university’s five innovative undergraduate and graduate programs.

“One of our goals since opening the university has been to breathe new life into the downtown core and show students that Niagara Falls is more than just a tourist destination,” said Felicia Werner, Executive Director of Community Engagement at UNF. “The market is an excellent way for them to see the city as a place where they can learn, work and thrive which we anticipate will also have a lasting beneficial impact for the local economy.”

While the beginning of an academic term is celebration enough, this one will mark UNF’s largest enrolment yet of more than 1,000 students.

“This milestone gives us great optimism for the future of both the university and the city,” said Werner.

The Magnificent Fall Market will take place from noon to 7 p.m. outside the Magnificent Women’s Market at 4605 Queen St. Along with shopping, participants can enjoy live music and other activities for all ages.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the University of Niagara Falls Canada to host this market and help connect students with the local community,” said Dan Bordenave, CEO of the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub. “This event aligns with our mission to support Niagara’s entrepreneurs while providing an environment where students and businesses can grow together. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to experience the innovation and creativity happening in our downtown.”
