Position Job Title: Marketing Project Specialist
Location: Niagara Falls, ON (onsite)
Reports To: Marketing Manager

This position is a 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.

Position Summary

As a successful hire you will be responsible for implementing marketing campaigns, working with various stakeholders, supporting internal requests and leading generation efforts. This will be main point of contact for marketing projects within the University of Niagara Falls Canada.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess prior experience in roles related to student recruitment or have a background in collaborating closely with student recruitment departments to provide marketing support. This role will play a pivotal part in assisting both our international and domestic recruitment teams in their recruitment and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute all recruitment marketing requests and work collaboratively with the recruitment teams to support international and domestic recruitment strategies.
  • Measure performance against set goals and provide reports or metrics on the success of marketing strategies.
  • Monitor current market trends and conduct competitor analysis, especially within the Higher Education sector.
  • Own ultimate responsibility for successfully delivering marketing requests in a timely manner.
  • Develop valuable and engaging marketing content, such as e-newsletters, email marketing campaigns, Presentations, digital screens, landing pages and RSVP forms, how-to videos and other marketing assets.
  • Meet with other University stakeholders to understand their Marketing needs and then collaborate with the marketing team on completing the projects within the deadlines needed.
  • Source SWAG for a variety of teams as needed, place orders, monitor inventory including setting up and managing online store, review invoices for accuracy and submit to manager for approval.
  • Support University events such as webinars, school/partner visits, signing ceremonies, on-campus and recruitment events.
  • Manage content and updates for internal stakeholders, as directed.
  • Assist with other day-to-day marketing activities as needed.
  • May be required to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends to support university events
  • Other duties as assigned to support the university

Competencies

  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret information from stakeholders and use it to address marketing needs
  • Advanced understanding of the international student recruitment sector to understand and meet marketing requests.
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and CASL legislation
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at once and complete by stated deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, sense of aesthetics and marketing material that is visually appealing
  • Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity.
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • General understanding of the programs and services provided by the University
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods.
  • Proven experience developing and executing complex marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Diplomatic and tactful; recognizes internal and external sensitivities; has an intuitive ability to read the political implications of recommendations and actions; uses sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing and social media strategy. Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and social media.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment quality service.
  • The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Education and Experience:

  • Successfully completed a post-secondary degree in degree in marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in mid-level marketing positions with relevant experience in international marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a Student Recruitment department.
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools (i.e. Salesforce, Pardot)
  • Experience in the Canadian post-secondary education sector considered an asset.
